Can saliva be used as lube?

THIS BLOG POST IS BASED ON MY OPINION AND FOR THE BENEFIT OF COUPLES IN MONOGAMOUS RELATIONSHIPS.

Yes, a lot has been said as to why saliva should not be used as a lubricant during sex, but that’s not actually the case when you are in a safe and secure long-term relationship. It actually has many upsides as a lubricant.

Retail lubricants can sometimes be quite costly, and finding the right one that actually works can be a bit tricky. The water-based ones tend to dry up quickly or become really sticky. Myself and my partner have gone through the list, and never really found one that suits us, or that works half as well as saliva. It literally is the best thing, as it’s on hand 24/7, so whenever you’re in the mood and wherever you are, you are always ready to go.

We did find one other type of lubricant, which is also pretty awesome to use, and that’s baby oil. The downside to that though is that you cannot use it when you and your partner are performing oral sex, for obvious reasons. Saliva on the other hand can be used in all sex scenarios. You never run out and it costs nothing! We actually have a nickname for it when having sex with no foreplay to get us going, known as “the lick and go”! Believe me, you can use spit as lube, it works.

Yes, you do have to keep producing saliva and spitting on your partner’s penis to keep it lubricated, and no, there is nothing dirty about it at all. It’s actually a little naughty, and can turn both you and your partner on quite a bit, from a visual and an audio aspect. Just remember this is only for monogamous relationships, and not if you’re jumping from partner to partner.
